How do I resolve a rejected proof of address (POA) for KYC verification?

Written by KYC Team

If your proof of address (POA) was rejected during the KYC verification, it’s usually due to mismatched or unclear information on the document submitted.

To avoid delays, review the requirements below before resubmitting your document.

Common reasons a POA is rejected

Your document may be rejected if:

  • The address on the document does not match the address registered on your TabTrade account

  • Your name or address contains spelling errors or inconsistent details

  • The document is a screenshot, unclear, cropped, edited, or difficult to read

  • The document is outdated

  • A handwritten document was submitted

How to fix and resubmit your POA

1. Prepare an accepted document

Submit an official document that clearly shows:

  • Your full name

  • Your residential address

  • A recent issue date

Accepted examples include:

  • Utility bills

  • Bank statements

  • Government-issued letters or correspondence

  • Digital documents in PDF format (screenshots are not accepted)

  • Clear photos or scanned copies of physical documents

Please ensure all four corners of the document are visible, and that the document is clear, complete, and easy to read. Photocopies and edited documents are not accepted.

2. Check your address carefully

Make sure the address on the document matches the address on your TabTrade account. Small differences such as abbreviations, unit numbers, or spelling mismatches may cause the verification to fail.

3. Upload the document again

Log in to your TabTrade account and upload the corrected document through the secure account portal.

4. Wait for review

Once submitted, the Compliance team will review your document and update you on the verification status.

Tips to help your POA get approved

  • Use a document issued within the last 3 months

  • Upload a clear, high-quality image or PDF

  • Ensure all corners of the document are visible

  • Avoid screenshots, edited files, or handwritten documents

  • Make sure the text is readable and not blurred, covered, or cropped

Following the steps above will help speed up your KYC verification and reduce the chances of another rejection.
