A VPS is a remote Windows computer hosted online. This means you do not need to be on your main computer to use it. As long as you have your login details and an internet connection, you can connect to your VPS from your phone or tablet and access the same remote environment from there.
Which app should I use?
For mobile access, please use the Windows App by Microsoft. This is the app used to connect to your remote Windows VPS from a supported mobile device. (Note: If you previously used Microsoft Remote Desktop, Microsoft has replaced that app with Windows App for supported platforms).
Before you connect
Before trying to log in, make sure you have your VPS connection details ready. You can find your credentials in your welcome email or within the Secure Account Portal VPS page.
Tip: It is a good idea to wait a short time after receiving your welcome email before connecting for the first time. This gives the VPS time to finish setting up fully. If you try to connect too early, the connection may fail even if your details are correct.
How to access your VPS from mobile
Using your VPS on mobile is simple once your setup is complete:
Install the app: Download the Windows App from your device's store (the App Store for iPhone/iPad or Google Play for Android).
Add a PC: Open the app and select the option to add a new PC.
Enter connection details: Input the VPS IP address and the correct port (found in your welcome email or within the Secure Account Portal).
Enter credentials: Input your VPS username and password (also found in your welcome email or within the Secure Account Portal).
Connect: Initiate the connection and accept the certificate if prompted.
What if I have trouble connecting?
If you cannot connect, first double-check that you entered the correct IP address, port, username, and password.

Need more help with mobile controls?
When you connect from a phone or tablet, you are controlling a Windows desktop through touch gestures instead of a physical mouse and keyboard. Because of that, some actions may feel a little different at first. Functions such as right-click, dragging, or scrolling depend on the touch controls available in the Windows App. This is normal for mobile access and does not usually mean there is an issue with your VPS.
